Clare is Kenyan and South African and grew up in both countries, doing her A-levels at the African Leadership Academy. She has now joined Amsterdam University College where she will graduate with a BA in Sociology. Clare is following the sociology and psychology tracks, while planning on doing a minor in literature. She is dedicated to amplifying African storytellers and developing accessible courses that empower the African youth. During her gap year she worked with LEAF Academy, Start Up Academy and the Global Scholars Program in program development and as a teacher which inspired her passion for designing educational programs that uplift African youth. She aims to do a Masters in Post Colonial studies as this is her primary research interest.
African Women’s Development Fund USA (AWDF USA) was created by the Ghana-based African Women’s Development Fund (AWDF), with a coalition of American women leaders, to spread awareness about the tremendous impact of African women-led organizations on communities across the continent.
